ContextVision continued its stable sales development in the third quarter 2014 and saw a five per cent sales growth after the first nine months. The Company reached several milestones in broadening its technology and product offering.
ContextVision’s sales in the third quarter were SEK 14.8 million, compared to SEK 15.9 million during the third quarter last year. The slight sales reduction in the quarter is within the normal fluctuation of the Company’s revenue stream. The operating result ended at SEK 1.5 million, down from SEK 3.2 million last year. Operating costs in the third quarter included the final costs related to a legal dispute, and also reflect increased R&D activity. Net result for the third quarter came in at SEK 1.0 million, against SEK 2.5 million in the same period last year.
For the first nine months of 2014 ContextVision had sales of SEK 48.2 million, which is a SEK 2.4 million increase from last year. Net result for the first nine months was SEK 4.7 million against SEK 2.0 million in the same period of 2013.
Medical imaging is crucial for accurate diagnosis and treatment. ContextVision is a world leader in image analysis and enhancement software. The Company has a particular focus on ultrasound, which is the fastest growing segment in the medical imaging industry.
“We reached two important milestones in the third quarter. We had a successful launch of our new 3D ultrasound software product, which enables a photorealistic image of the unborn baby. The product has been extremely well received by ultrasound equipment manufacturers, and we expect revenues from the new product to materialize next year,” said CEO Anita Tollstadius.
ContextVision also expanded its network of academic collaborators in the third quarter, through engaging with a renowned team at a university in Switzerland. This is another step in further developing ContextVision as the technology leader in medical imaging enhancement and analysis software.
